I want to start this by saying I know we suck. But we have who we have and there are still 130+ games to be played. That being said I was wondering how this lineup could somehow be improved. So I came up with this:

- Rengifo 2B/3B
- Trout CF
- Adell RF/DH
- Ward LF
- O’hoppe C
- Drury/Sano (2B) / (1B/3B)
- Thaiss DH/C
- Neto SS
- Schanuel 1B

- A couple of important things to add for my reasoning behind this lineup. Historically, Trout has done slightly better offensively in the 2/3 spot. In his career, he has 3692 PAs in the 2 hole, 2046 PAs in the 3 hole, and 773 PAs hitting leadoff. Play the guy where he is the most comfortable which is in the 2 or 3 hole.
- Adell has been our best hitter this season and yes I’m aware it’s a small sample size (55 PAs). His plate discipline/vision and his swing has seen positive improvements. The guys hits the ball hard and uses more of the field now.
- I’m beating a dead horse here but I have to mention it. Hicks should only be in the lineup at most 2 times a week. I would prefer he be dfa’d but that’s a different story. Otherwise I believe Thaiss should get a shot at the DH spot 2 to 3 games within the week. He’s the best hitter out of the Hicks/Moniak/Thaiss trio.
- Let Neto and Schanuel get ABs without the added pressure of being at the top of the order. They are young dudes that need to be given time. It sucks that they were put in this position but it is what it is.
