After last season, when the Angels lost Ohtani and otherwise didn’t really replace him with anyone of note, I had to ask myself, “what reason do they give me to watch this year?” The answer is pretty simple: the hope that Trout has an MVP return to form, that the young guys play well and meet/surpass expectations, and that Rendon can stay healthy and have a nice productive comeback year.
Not even a month into the season, Rendon is back on the IL (not his fault, i don’t hate him for it) and the young guys are struggling. Trout has been great, but that’s about it.
I’m not ready to fully tune out yet, but I’m already running out of reasons to watch. Anyone else feel similarly?
