We’re the only team with a draft pick, not a player. I guess they can’t use the same shtick twice.

Obviously, we’ve been very aggressive in selecting advanced prospects (esp. a good hit tool) and getting them to the big leagues as fast as possible. This, paired with how many of our most ready prospects already played a handful of games last season (Schanuel, Paris, Joyce, Jordyn Adams, Caceres, Mederos), how young our other top prospects are (Dana, Rada) and how depleted our farm system is, makes this selection make some sense.

Still, it would have been nice to be a bit more like all the other teams and actually have a normal prospect listed instead.
