Hello everyone,

I’m just now getting back into baseball after playing as a kid and teen. I watched the WBC with interest because I thought it was an interesting way to watch teams from around the world.

I was dazzled by Ohtani and his leadership for team Japan. I was also thrilled he was playing for a team in my local area, the Angels! I live in Anaheim and i have gone to 20+ games this season just to see him play.

Ohtani has played some of the best baseball in history and I’m quite attached to watching him. I’m almost certain that he will likely be playing elsewhere next season. My question is: am I a bad fan for cheering for him where he ends up? It could be a team/city I have no affiliation with.

Anyone else have this dilemma?
