Who do you want the Angels to draft at 11th on Sunday?

comments

Two players that have been linked to the Angels in multiple mock drafts are Ole Miss SS Jacob Gonzalez and Vanderbilt OF Enrique Bradfield Jr.

Jacob Gonzalez, SS, Ole Miss

Scouting grades: Hit: 55 | Power: 55 | Run: 40 | Arm: 55 | Field: 50 | Overall: 55

2023 stats: .327/.435/.564 with 10 HR and 51 RBI in 54 games

According to MLB.com:

  • Good plate discipline and bat-to-ball means he will be “at least a solid hitter”

  • “25-homer potential” from strength and bat speed

  • Below-average baserunner

  • Good senses, long strides, and strong arm at short

  • Some experts predicting a shift to 2B or 3B

Enrique Bradfield Jr., OF, Vanderbilt

Scouting grades: Hit: 50 | Power: 40 | Run: 80 | Arm: 40 | Field: 70 | Overall: 55

2023 stats: .279/.410/.429 with 6 HR, 34 RBI, and 37 SB in 62 games

According to MLB.com:

  • Perhaps the fastest player in this draft; compared to Kenny Lofton

  • “Disruptive force” on the basepaths

  • Elite speed makes up for below-average throwing arm

  • Contact hitter that likes to bunt

  • “Will never be a slugger” but has “sneaky pop” in his bat

Thoughts on these two players, or another prospect that the Angels might take at 11? Both fill needs as Gonzalez could be the long-term choice at third once Rendon is gone and Bradfield’s baserunning would be a huge boost for a team that is currently 25th in MLB in stolen bases.
