Obviously there’s some strong opinions about Pete Alonso but there’s no real indications that this is an “Arte move”. He’s never been a high average guy and he had straight up mashed in a pitcher friendly ballpark. His max exit velo has been consistent throughout his career. He’ll eventually be a DH but this would be nowhere near as bad as Hamilton, Pujols, Rendon. He’s missed a max of 10 games each season for the past 6 years in the league. All indications are that this would be a good move for the Angels who are in desperate need of a good slugger since Ohtani left.
