Caleb Ketchup, a lone bright spot in the A+ lineup, was moved up to AA 9/10. Earlier today, he was promoted again to AAA.
This implies that he’s filling in in anticipation of another move, because under normal circumstances, he should have stayed at AA. Stefanic seemed to get injured in yesterday’s game (right calf tightness, Jack Lopez came in for him). The Bees enter their next game with 5 infielders, 6 now with Ketchup. One of those is Calhoun, who’s purely a 1B/DH at this point.
The combination of Ketchup moving up and Stefanic’s injury seems to suggest that Kyren Paris could be recalled to the bigs. He hasn’t exactly been good with the bat in AAA, but he’s certainly been better than how he performed in AA to begin the year.
It could also be one of Cole Tucker, Elliot Soto, or Chad Stevens, but we would have to find room on the 60-day IL, and none of them are exactly an upgrade on Paris.
