Brett Kerry was in that all-pitchers 2021 draft as our 5th round pick. We bumped him to AAA this year and he was pretty mediocre, but the FO sent him back down to AA recently and he’s been dealing, pitching a 2.82 ERA in 10 games (6 starts) with 11.8 K/9. He’s been only okay at run prevention, but he’s gotten 7, 7, 10, 9, and 14 strikeouts in his last 5 games, including his recent outing of 7IP | 2ER/R | 1H | 2BB | 14K.

Additionally, as part of that 2021 draft class, Kerry comes up for the Rule 5 draft in the winter, so we might bring him up to both protect him and see if he can hang in the bigs.

As far as corresponding moves go, we could option Canning and shift Matt Moore to 60-day IL to make room for him. There are several other options, such as putting Tyler Anderson on IL or optioning one of the young guys (Aldegheri, for example) to preserve them for next season.
