19 days ago, I posted a thread where I listed our roster at the time and tried to predict which guys we might add to the 40-man roster and what corresponding moves we might need to make to fit them all there.

Since 8/10, we have made the following moves, some of which were somewhat surprising, but none of which seem to matter much long-term.

Added to the active roster and the 40-man

• Ryan Zeferjahn
• Ryan Miller
• Brock Burke
• Jack Lopez
• Niko Kavadas
• Victor Mederos (already on 40-man)

Added to the 40-man

• Nick Robertson

Sent to the IL

• Jose Marte
• Matt Moore
• Jose Soriano
• Mike Trout (to 60-day)
• Luis Rengifo (to 60-day)

Optioned

• Hans Crouse
• Charles Leblanc
• Davis Daniel
• Kenny Rosenberg

DFA’d/Waived

• Mike Baumann
• Jose Cisnero
• Zach Plesac
• Willie Calhoun
• Luis Guillorme

This sums to 7 guys added to the active roster and 7 guys added to the 40-man, with 7 going in the other direction.

Roster expansion is around the corner, as well as two anticipated call-ups: Aldegheri and Dana.

From my thread, I highlighted 8 players who, based on their level of play and potential need for Rule 5 protection, I thought would be added to the roster. 3 of those will be ensured by Sunday: Aldegheri, Dana, and Kavadas. That leaves Christian Moore, the injured Matthew Lugo, and three guys recently promoted to AAA: Wagaman, Campero, and Torres.

If it were up to me, my moves would be:

• Matt Moore and Jose Marte to 60-day IL (free up two 40-man spots)
• Call up Samuel Aldegheri, pushing Fulmer to the bullpen and option Brock Burke (happening before roster expansion, uses a 40-man spot)
• Call up Caden Dana, DFA Johnny Cueto
• Call up Christian Moore, DFA Jack Lopez
• Call up Gustavo Campero, option Niko Kavadas (use 40-man spot)
• Call up Eric Wagaman, DFA Zuniga (unless Rendon ends up on the 60-day IL)
• Recall Reid Detmers, sending Canning to the bullpen
• Recall Jordyn Adams, consider DFA’ing Pillar

After the season:

• DFA Kenny Rosenberg, Davis Daniel, and Victor Mederos to free up spots for 60-day IL guys to return

I’m doing this off the top of my head, so the numbers might not work out, but feel free to point out any discrepancies you notice.
