So with all the talks about Ohtanis soon to be half a billion dollar contract. How can any team afford that given that the estimated net worth of the franchise is conservatively 3 Billion. I mean i guess i know the answer… and that is baseball teams are really unprofitable businesses for the ultra wealthy. I get this money will be spread out over close to a decade, but having the salary of one player making half of the organizations net worth seems to be a ludicrous gamble. What am i missing?
