In a season that has started worse than even the math expected, there are some bright lights. Jo Adell cutting down his strikeout rate is one. Luis Rengifo being consistently above average without ever passing the eye test is another. Adam Cimber’s comeback, etc.

Turning relievers back into starters is this year’s theme. There have been successes (like Jordan Hicks and Angels Legend Reynaldo Lopez), and there have been some failures (most notably AJ Puk).

And here we have a guy with TWO TOMMY JOHNS who the Pirates /gave back to us/, with electric stuff and the ability to carry that into the sixth inning!
