The point of Ohtani isolating for a month or two while the teams show up to sway him is to test the Angels trust. He clearly has been treated somewhat correctly over the course of his Angels career but he wants to see pound for pound if they’re worth sticking with. If the Angels end up leaking, he’ll go to another team because that will have been the final straw. But if the Angels keep their piehole shut, it means he can trust the organization long term and I believe he will stay.

I would go as far to call this “Ohtani’s Masterpiece”.
