So, 2009 was the year I first watched baseball regularly. The Angels (and Reds) are my favorite team so the success of that year meant a lot to me. I was more of a highlight-watcher before so I knew how great the franchise was during the entire 2000s. In the years since, I look back and it seems like nothing has been the same since 09. Yes, I know about 2014. The 09 club was special though. I wont name everyone, but we had great vets, legends, lifers, and young stars: Vlad,
Abreu, Torii, Kendrick, Figgins, Morales, Napoli, Aybar, Saunders, Lackey, Weaver, and Santana. I want to know if you ever think about how special
that roster was. We took the eventual world champs to six games. Even as a “casual” fan now, I still think about how this team made me love the game. That is why I think so much about this specific season. How often do you think about this squad?
