Is it always this soul crushing?

For context – I’m a cricket fan in India who discovered the delights of MLB thanks to Jomboy videos and basically fell in love with the genius of Shohei Ohtani thanks to the World Baseball Classic final. So I decided to follow the Angels for the season in the hopes of seeing more Shohei and while I haven’t been disappointed on that front, seeing him part of a team that’s *this* bad is… wow.

This is bringing back memories of being an Indian cricket fan in the 1990s where one of the all time greats of cricket, Sachin Tendulkar played for and led a pretty shit team that found ways and ways of losing across a decade of underachievement. It was a pretty soul crushing period where the worst thing you could do was hope.

So I gotta ask – is it always this bad or this season particularly awful?
