Like most of you, I’ve been getting annoyed in recent years by the Angels reliance on TTO baseball and constantly swinging for the fences. Since I was bored, I decided to calculate for myself how they compare to current MLB teams and previous Angel teams.
TTO is Three-True-Outcomes (Home run, walk, strikeout). For these stats, I divided the total number of home runs, strikeouts and walks by plate appearances. I used Baseball Reference for all of this, which I believe includes the last afternoon game with the M’s.
