Now that the trade deadline is passed, there aren’t many ways to improve the team.

With Trout and Ward down, Angels OF is Grichuk-Moniak-Renfroe but Moniak is often pinch hit when lefties are on the mound.

This team’s been pinch hitting Chad Wallach for LHPs recently and that pretty much says everything about how awful our bench is rn.

While being poor RHP hitter, Laureano is very solid against lefties and his defense is stellar. At the very least, I think he’s massive upgrade from Adams as a backup OF and Wallach as a platoon vs LHP.

Even if Trout comes back, he can be utilized as a platoon/bench bat + occasionally start games as CF when we face southpaws to give Trout some break from D.
