I’m going to get killed, but hear me out. We have at least $77 million a year committed till 2026. Arte has shown a reluctance to go over the CBT which will be $233 million next year. If we resign Ohtani and his contract is what people are expecting $50-$60 million a year, that leaves the team with roughly $105-$110 million a year to round out the 37 other spots on the 40 man roster. Our farm system isn’t great, and I feel like resigning him will just doom us for the next 5+ years without new ownership. I love watching the guy and he is awesome, I’m just not sure it’s best long term if ownership won’t spend to build around him. Downvote away!
